Jamie Kolnes

Jamie Kolnes is a journalism major with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in marketing. She helped develop the student profiles as well as draft and edit web content for the Bidwell Mansion project website and the main METX website. METX has given her valuable experience as a PR representative and allowed her to develop and polish her technical writing and communication skills. In her free time, Jamie enjoys visiting friends, exploring the Bay Area, and gardening. After graduation, Jamie hopes to join a large public relations firm and help many companies.

Shawn Rogers

Graduating May 2021

Shawn Rogers is a computer animation and game development major with a focus on 3D modeling and a minor in scientific technology and values. He assisted with lidar scans and photogrammetry of historical objects featured in the Bidwell Mansion VR experience. METX has helped him by exposing the technologies used for scanning real-world objects and using them in the field. In his free time, Shawn enjoys playing online games with friends, going on outdoor adventures, and casually watching TV shows. After graduation, Shawn hopes to work as a 3D modeler for a game company to design high quality assets.

Alex Olah

Graduating May 2021

Alex Olah is a computer animation and game development major with an emphasis in programming as well as a minor in game design. Alex has created the visual feedback part of the VR experience. METX has broadened his programming skills to other fields and mediums. METX has also given him the opportunity to create visually immersive products for clientele specifications. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing video games and cooking. In the future, Alex hopes to get a job as a gameplay programmer.

Chase O'Connor

Graduating Dec 2021

Chase O’Connor is a computer animation and game development major with an emphasis in gameplay programming and a minor in computer science. He helped create the mechanics of the VR and 2D video experience. CAGD has given him all of the practical and professional knowledge and skills that he needs for his future career and has allowed him to thrive in game design and becoming an exceptional problem solver. In his free time, Chase enjoys playing video games and going on hikes and walks. After graduation, Chase hopes to join a game development company.

Dylan Loe

Graduating May 2021

Dylan Loe is a computer animation and game design major with an emphasis in programming and a minor in computer science. Aside from computer animation, Dylan aligns his education with scientific technology and values. He assisted in the programming and development of the Bidwell Mansion VR Experience. METX has given him valuable experience in creating non-game development Unity applications. In his free time, Dylan enjoys playing the drums, playing video games, and hiking. After graduation, Dylan hopes to join a game studio to program and design games as a gameplay engineer or programmer.

Natalie Maldonado

Natalie Maldonado is a journalism major with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in marketing. Natalie conducted interviews of fellow CAGD and MADT students as well as assisted in creating content for the Bidwell Mansion project website and the main METX website. METX has given her the opportunity to utilize her PR abilities, leverage real client experience and strengthen her collaboration skills. In Natalie’s free time, she likes to spend time outdoors while exploring new places. After graduation, Natalie hopes to work on National Geographic's public relations team.

Michaela Harris

J&PR

Graduating May 2022

Michaela Harris is a journalism major with a minor in Spanish. She helped develop and edit the student profiles and Virtual experience content as well as assist in designing the Bidwell Mansion project webpage. METX has given her the opportunity to expand her editing and story building skills along with gaining PR experience working for real clients. In her free time, Michaela enjoys playing guitar, reading short stories, and listening to horror podcasts. In the future, Michaela hopes to be a writer and copy editor for newspapers or publishing firms.

Camryn Wilson

MADT

Graduating May 2022

Camryn Wilson is a media arts major with a focus on production. She worked as a member of the project pitch team, developing the script and treatment for the 2D video experience. She was a production coordinator for the virtual experience video production, creating call sheets and schedules as well as developing and delegating necessary tasks. As a production team member, she operated camera and audio equipment, as well as edited and developed graphics for the 2D experience. Through her involvement she has gained leadership and hands-on experience related to the field of video production. In her spare time, Camryn watches anything from YouTube videos to blockbuster movies. Her acquired knowledge and experience working on the METX team has led her toward achieving her dreams of working as a production coordinator for the film industry.

Xee Chue

MADT

Graduating May 2021

Xee Chue is a communications design major with an emphasis on media arts. Xee has filmed and produced behind-the-scenes footage of the Bidwell Mansion project. She has also worked as an editor and assistant to the VR and 360 degree video crew. METX has given her the opportunity to build upon her editing and videography skills for technical projects. In Xee's free time, she likes to spend time with her two dogs and tend her garden growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. One day, Xee hopes to work for a government or a state job in the Sacramento area.

Sarah Lee Donne

Sarah Lee Donne is a computer animation and game design major. Sarah assisted in the production of photogrammetry scans that were used to model the Bidwell Mansion VR experience. METX has given her the opportunity to get hands-on experience working with different forms of 3D scanning, modeling and rendering. Exposure to emerging technologies during this class has helped develop her skills as an animator. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, playing music, and watching TV shows with friends. In the future, Sarah hopes to have a career in 3D modeling for animation and game design.

Erin Harris

Erin Harris is a journalism and public relations major with a minor in marketing. METX has given her the opportunity to work with clients in real PR cases as well as advance her technical writing and editing skills. In Erin's free time, she enjoys reading in the park and playing rugby. After graduation, Erin hopes to enter the workforce as a public relations professional before going back to school to study law.

Kaylie Parr

Kaylie Parr is a communication design major with a focus on media arts. She worked as a member of the project pitch team, developed storyboards for the client pitch, assisted with 2D and 360 degree video filming and post-production at the Bidwell Mansion. METX has given her the opportunity to apply her skills of illustration and production to broader video projects and experience the steps of production from start to finish. In her free time, Kaylie loves traveling with friends, rollerblading around campus, and doing anything creative. In the future, Kaylie hopes to join a digital PR agency as a creative director for the music industry.

Jeremy Casada

Jeremy Casada is a computer animation and game development major with an emphasis in game development. He also minors in scientific technology and values. Jeremy has worked as a programmer for the Bidwell Mansion virtual experience. METX has given him his first experience creating, coding and programming non-video game Unity products and applications. This exposure has broadened both his creativity and his coding abilities. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys growing spicy peppers and playing with Rubik’s Cubes. In the future, Jeremy hopes to be hired as a game programmer after he graduates.

Patrick Kelly

Patrick Kelly is a media arts major with an emphasis in production. He works as a production assistant, camera operator, and video editor for the 360 degree and 2D virtual experiences. METX has given him valuable work experience in the media arts and design field and allowed him to further his skills using advanced camera and VR technologies. In his free time, Patrick enjoys visiting friends, photography, and going for drives in Butte County. Patrick hopes to join a cinema production crew and be a main cinematographer in the American film industry.

Ava Norgrove

Ava Norgrove studies journalism and public relations with a minor in creative writing. She worked with the J&PR team to help build the METX and Bidwell Mansion project websites, took photographs for both project sites, and worked as a member of the client pitch team. METX has given her the opportunity to build upon her skills collaborating with clients, coding and website design, and add to her photography portfolio. In Ava’s free time, she loves to read and write along with listening to and playing music. In the future, Ava hopes to become a hard news journalist and write novels.

Christina Hoze

Christina Hoze is a journalism and public relations major with a minor in marketing. She helped develop student profiles, created web content and operated as the lead web designer for the Bidwell Mansion project website. METX has given her the opportunity to utilize her PR abilities, leverage real client experience and develop stronger collaboration skills. In Christina's free time, she likes to write short stories and track trending films and TV shows. In the future, Christina hopes to become a personal publicist to actors or work in-house for a film studio.

Baylor Boring

Baylor Boring is a media arts major with a minor in journalism and public relations. She has helped shoot video for the virtual tour and assisted with the production of the 360 degree content for the VR experience. METX has given her an opportunity to use real equipment in a real setting, allowing her to problem solve on the spot and adjust to her surroundings. The experience furthered her skills in using innovative video technology. In her free time, Baylor enjoys shooting on 35mm film. Her subjects include anything or anyone that’s bright, bold and out of the ordinary. After graduation, Baylor hopes to become a creative director in the fashion or music industry.

Presley Burgess

MADT

Graduating Aug 2021

Presley Burgess is a communication design major with an emphasis in media arts with a minor in broadcasting. She helped produce, film, and edit the virtual experience, 2D video tour, and behind-the-scenes video. As the production coordinator for the 2D video, the METX project gave her the opportunity to plan and execute successful film shoots. She has also further developed her communication and collaboration skills. In Presley’s free time, she enjoys going to live shows, traveling, and keeping up with pop culture, film and television. Presley hopes to become a casting director or talent agent for a large company in Los Angeles.

Debra Johnson

JOUR Instructor

Debra Johnson is a professional-in-residence in the Department of Journalism and Public Relations. As the METX project coordinator she’s responsible for managing client relationships and promoting the collaboration. She guides the website team and helps students develop skills in storytelling and project management. She teaches courses in entrepreneurial journalism, design and strategic writing, PR research and measurement, and manages internships. She has worked in public relations for more than 20 years and has a master’s degree in public communication and bachelor’s in international relations from Chico State.

Daniel Cahill

CAGD Instructor

Daniel Cahill is a lecturer at Chico State University within the CAGD program. He has been a working professional in the film and VFX industry for over a decade. Daniel’s expertise in 3D scanning and VFX technology has been used in notable films and television shows including: Matrix 4, IT, Power Rangers, Jumanji, Death Note, Tom and Jerry, Prison Break, and The Flash. Daniel’s goal teaching VFX is to show students the flexibility and positive impact 3D modeling technology can have on our daily lives through 3D scanning and digitization.

Jeff Underwood

CAGD Instructor

Jeff Underwood is a lecturer in the CAGD program with a background in video game design, video game production and programming. He is a Chico State graduate with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Upon graduating, Jeff co-founded a game studio, where he continues to function as chief technical officer and executive producer, and has published seven games onto the Steam game platform. He maintains a wide variety of skills and a deep understanding of game studio pipelines, workflows, and a depth of knowledge of the gaming industry that he extends to his students.

Quinn Winchell

MADT Instructor

Quinn Winchell received his M.F.A. in directing from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He currently lectures in the Media Arts, Design, and Technology Department, the Department of Comparative Religion and Humanities, and the Department of Music and Theater. He teaches a variety of production and criticism courses that engage students in new levels of innovative pedagogy and is currently a videographer for the MADTech group, and a cinematographer/editor for MUTA's spring musical and theater productions: A Whole New Story & 200Hz. His specialties revolve around directing, screenwriting, cinematography, and editing.

Frank Pereira

CAGD Instructor

Frank Pereira has been active in the program since before its official launch. Frank's teaching mission is to broaden the student's knowledge of 3D and to foster new possibilities for their creativity. He wants students to graduate with the skills needed to succeed in this ever-growing field. Frank teaches a variety of upper-division courses in the CAGD program such as CGI Production, Senior Portfolio, Character Rigging, Digital Lighting and Texturing, 3D Character Modeling, and Motion Capture. Over the summer, Frank also teaches a creature creation workshop for the CSU Summer Arts program.

Connor Zelinsky

Connor Zelinsky is a lecturer in the CAGD program. He is an alumnus of the CAGD program and earned his masters from the University of Glasgow. Connor teaches a variety of courses including Digital Photography, Introduction to 3D Modeling, and Digital Lighting and Texturing.
