Media, Entertainment & Technology Experience is a multidisciplinary collaboration at Chico State that applies emerging technologies to media and entertainment platforms to promote immersive storytelling. The collaboration spans two colleges and three departments: Computer Animation and Game Development, Journalism and Public Relations, and Media Arts, Design, and Technology, to create one team.

The spring 2022 semester welcomed a collaboration between METX and the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve. Students worked in interdisciplinary teams to create an augmented reality application, video documentary, and social media content for BCCER to promote its Cultural Stewardship and Forest Therapy programs.
